FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.,– EY has announced that President & CEO, Patrick J. Fehring, of Level One Bank is a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2014 Award in the Michigan and Northwest Ohio Region. The awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Fehring was selected as a finalist from more than 50 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 5 at the MGM Grand Detroit.
“Pat didn’t know that he was being nominated," said David Walker, CFO of Level One Bank. “Our executive team wanted to enter the application on his behalf. As the visionary of our Bank, a true entrepreneur, and a man who leads with humility and integrity, he is well deserving of this honor.”
Taking an enormous risk, Fehring founded Level One Bank in 2007, when the economic conditions were on the precipice of significant downturn. He left his role as President of Fifth Third Bank, Eastern Michigan, and felt he could build a better bank. Fehring’s strategy was to create a community bank focused on local decision making, planned growth and being of service to fellow entrepreneurs. Today, Level One Bank has $630 million in assets, eight locations, 150 team members, and numerous accolades.
The EY program is now in its 28th year and has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries throughout the world.
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 15, 2014. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
Founded and produced by EY, the Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards are sponsored in the United States by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and SAP America.
